Prakurti District Stree Shakti Federation, Kalaburgi, is a nonprofit organization established on 28th October 2016 with a vision to uplift women and children. The organization works across Kalaburgi district and its taluks, focusing on poverty reduction, women & child welfare, human rights, healthcare, and education. It empowers members of Stree Shakti Sanghs in both rural and urban areas to achieve social, economic, and educational growth. Through programs like SHG formation, legal awareness, child labour & child marriage prevention, skill training, and women’s entrepreneurship promotion, the NGO drives impactful change. With 12 permanent staff, 25 volunteers, and outreach to over 7,000 women, 50 farmers, and 200 children, the federation continues to be a strong force for empowerment and community welfare.

Our NGO is working tirelessly to promote women empowerment across Kalaburagi district. We focus on building confidence, creating awareness about rights, and providing access to education and healthcare. Through Self-Help Group formation, skill development, and livelihood programs, we help women achieve financial independence and social equality. Legal awareness, campaigns against child marriage, and support centers further strengthen their safety and dignity. By empowering women, we are shaping stronger families, resilient communities, and a brighter future.
World Environment Day Celebration
On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special program was organized at the District Panchayat Child Care Center. The event was held on 05-06-205 at Kalaburagi. Children, staff, and community members actively participated in activities that promoted environmental awareness. The celebration highlighted the importance of protecting nature and encouraged everyone to contribute to a greener, healthier future.
Skill Development Training Program for SHG Women
The Department of Women and Child Development, District Stree Shakti Federation, and Child Development Project, Kalaburagi, jointly organized a Skill Development Training Program for SHG women. The training was held on 19-12-2024 to 20-12-2024 at the District Stree Shakti Federation Bhavan, Kalaburagi. The program aimed to enhance the skills of women in Self-Help Groups to strengthen their livelihood opportunities. Participants were guided on entrepreneurship, financial independence, and capacity building. Such initiatives empower women to contribute actively to their families and communities, fostering sustainable development.
Awareness Program on Drug Abuse
In the slum areas, an awareness program was organized under the joint initiative of the District Stree Shakti Federation and Shivam Seva Samsthe. The program highlighted the harmful effects of drug consumption and its impact on individuals, families, and society. Community members were educated on the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse. The campaign also encouraged youth to stay away from drugs and choose a healthier lifestyle. Such initiatives play a vital role in creating a safe, drug-free, and responsible community.
Voter Awareness Program
A voter awareness program was organized under the joint initiative of the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Women and Child Development, and District Stree Shakti Federation, Kalaburagi. The program aimed to educate the public on the importance of active participation in the democratic process. Information on the value of each vote and the role of citizens in strengthening democracy was shared. Awareness activities encouraged people to exercise their right to vote responsibly. The initiative inspired community members to contribute towards building a stronger and more inclusive society.
Stree Shakti Mela – 2022
We organized Stree Shakti Mela – 21 on 9th April 2022, showcasing and promoting the products made by Self-Help Groups. The mela encouraged women entrepreneurs by supporting their livelihoods and giving them a platform to display their skills, creativity, and hard work through handmade and local items. It not only boosted sales but also spread awareness about women’s self-reliance and empowerment. The event was held at the Balakara Balmandira campus, District Stree Shakti Federation Building, Pragati Colony, Kalaburagi. The program received active participation and appreciation from the community.It is the small change that makes the biggest impact.
